The legal bodies and entities of EADTU are:
The General Assembly
The General Assembly consists of EADTU members only and is chaired by the President. They consist of universities (represented by their Rectors) and organisations including consortia (represented by their Principals) whose primary mission is Lifelong Open and Flexible learning in distance Higher Education. The General Assembly intends to operate through argumentation rather than through voting. When voting yet is unavoidable, the voting mechanism is based on one member one vote.
The Supervisory Board
The Supervisory Board is responsible for the management of the EADTU as an institutional association. It operates within the conditions set by the General Assembly and is supported by the EADTU Office.
The Rectors Conference
One category in the General Assembly is the Rectors Conference. The Rectors from Lifelong Open and Flexible learning universities in distance Higher Education, constitute the so-called EADTU Rectors Conference to discuss strategic issues and set the goals and actions to their specific needs.
The Associations Conference
Another category in the General Assembly is the Associations Conference. The Principals of organisations including consortia for Lifelong Open and Flexible learning in distance Higher Education, constitute the so-called EADTU Associations Conference to discuss strategic issues and set the goals and actions to their specific needs.
